In 2023, customers avoided over 20 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) emissions by choosing Tesla’s electric vehicles and solar products.

It is estimated that each Tesla car on the road prevents about 51 tons of CO2e emissions, which shows the importance of switching from traditional internal combustion engine vehicles to electric vehicles in general, not just Tesla.
We can also see Tesla’s holistic approach to renewable energy more clearly as it integrates solar technology and energy storage systems. These systems not only reduce dependence on fossil fuels. They also increase grid stability and play a critical role for sustainable urban development by providing backup in case of possible outages.
The Tesla 2023 Impact Report also shows that Tesla is working to reduce the need to extract raw materials through extensive recycling initiatives. Tesla has demonstrated this by supporting the recovery of enough battery material to produce tens of thousands of cars in 2023.
According to the report, the company’s operational strategies focus on minimizing environmental impact. This includes significant reductions in water use, lower energy consumption through innovative production techniques and the use of renewable energy sources. It also emphasizes that all factories are designed to be as energy-efficient as possible in line with the goal of net zero greenhouse gas emissions.
Tesla also believes that this mission is supported by its employees. So much so that it announced that it received more than 5.9 million job applications in 2023. In fact, this is clear evidence of the company’s growing influence and attractiveness as an employer.
Tesla’s electric cars are among the most efficient on the market, requiring less frequent charging and contributing to lower emissions per kilometer compared to competitors. Its safety record is also exemplary, with high ratings in safety tests across multiple continents and different criteria, and driver assistance technologies that enhance vehicle safety.
